The True Gospel

The True Gospel - is the power of God to save all who believe! Today there is an urgent need to preach the true gospel of salvation. Followers of social gospel are increasing day by day as innumerable innocent crowds are mesmerised by the so-called popular leaders/preachers. Many are perishing in their sins though they are fed and clothed. Character building is not in the vocabulary of these false prosperity preachers. Life-transfomration is not in any of today's popular organizations' vision or goals.

But Apostle Paul was not ashamed of the message of the cross, as it has the power to save all those who believe. It is so simple, yet so powerful, because it is the very person of the Lord Jesus. His death and resurrection are the foundation for man's repentance and faith to be saved freely by God's grace. Read Mark 16:15-16, Romans 1:17, 1 Cor. 1:16-18.

There are, on the other hand, those who talk of "full gospel". I never noticed this word in the Holy Scriptures. There is only one gospel that can save mankind. It is the true gospel as there are many false gospels being preached these days. Apostel said to Galatians that there are some who preach other Jesus, other gospel which we have not preached. So he warned them to be careful and to be on watch.

The gospel that Paul preached is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
" Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:".

This is the content of the gospel Paul received from God and also preached to the Gentiles. As we can notice, this contains the main truths of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus as the key truths of the gospel. If these are missing in any kind of gospel preaching, then it is simply not a gospe message at all. Sadly, many preach without metioning these key truths and so have no power to save souls. This is the only message that can save souls and transform fallen human beings.

May all realize and return to the fundamental principles of the gospel contained in Scriptures as mentioned above. Then and then only souls are saved and God is glorified. Amen.
